It is saddening that a people are spreading corruption in the name of Islam- MDP

Opposition Maldivian Democratic Party, MDP, has said that it is saddening that some politicians are spreading corruption throughout the nation in the name of Islam.

In the message addressed to the people on the occasion of the Maldives’ adherence to Islam, MDP said that the people of Maldives have been upon Islam since long and today it is noted that many politicians are using Islam as a tool to spread corruption and mayhem in the country.

MDP said that it is shame that these politicians are abusing the religion to gain popularity and spread their falsehood.

MDP noted that the people of Maldives have been upon Islam upon their own choice and this should be understood by all.
