India ranks 66th in food security index

Based on a survey of 105 countries, Index ranks India much lower than China, which stood at 39, although higher than its other neighbours Bangladesh (81) and Pakistan (75). India ranked 66th in the 2012 Global Food Security Index, released by American chemical company DuPont on Wednesday. "India is ranked 66 in the list of 105 countries, scoring slightly higher in the category of 'availability' than in other two categories of 'affordability' and 'quality and safety'," DuPont executive vice president James C Borel said.
